THE POTTERY PROJECT
by Croatian Relief Services, Inc.
In 2010, after a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Croatian Relief Services responded by opening the Cardinal Stepinac Children's Center. The Children's Center continues to be a home for 46 orphaned and abandoned children, who are given food, shelter, clothing, safety, an education, love, and the chance for a future.
The goal of the pottery project is to develop a pottery studio and shop, where the children will be involved in hand crafting mugs, bowls, plates, vases, jewelry, and more, which will then be sold throughout Haiti and the United States. 100% of the profit will be used to support the children. As of now, the Children's Center relies entirely on private donations to cover expenses such as food, clothing, school tuition, uniforms, and more, but the Pottery Project aims to move the Children's Center toward financial self sustainability.
Our children, staff, and volunteers thank you for helping us in our mission!
